my last project of 2021.
my last project of my 3 years in Japan:
ever so slowly being pulled back to present
my first solo exhibition
all I wanted was to leave Japan knowing that for my last couple months, I tried really really hard at something.
instead of project, it’s best to call this an experiment.
a chance to challenge something new.
I’m deeply indebted to Kaji-san and Mariko-san of @mukoukou for letting me take a risk, run free, and supporting me all the while.
with all our time spent together, leading up to and during the exhibition they really became like family to me.

I don’t like to go alone, so I tapped two friends who I’ve yearned to collaborate with since day 1 of meeting.
for the reception, @genseiichi , who despite being busy with work and freelance projects, prepared a live electronic set, appending the visual exhibition with immersive, ephemeral sonics.
@repeat_pattern designed the beautiful exhibition DMs and supported as the cool headed creative consultant that helped steer a lofty vision into reality. the DM wasn’t just critical for promotion but also served as a cherished leftover of a pivotal life experience
and without the help of Moe Katsuoka, Yosuke Momen and Risa Arimura, in installing the exhibit, I easily wouldn’t have finished in time. I owe them a lot.
