Photography
Returning to my practitioner origins in sound and analog photography, Analemma is an early exploration into the confluence of sonic phenomena and alternative darkroom printing methods. In this series, lasers are used to interrogate the vibrational movement of synthesized audio. By exposing photographic enlarging paper to this movement, each unique sound’s sonic evolution is recorded, allowing me to capture the plasticity of light and sound.
The name is derived from the astronomical diagrams that depict the sun’s position from a fixed location over the course of a year, evoking notions of the temporal, planetary, and metaphysical.
